How do we start?
Add the bot to your server. Someone who can manage the server runs /setup and picks a channel for wild creatures. Then just chat. The bot answers from the buttons and menus under every card, so nobody has to type a command.
Does it read our messages?
No. Discord tells the bot that someone sent a message, never what it says. It does not have the Message Content permission and it keeps only who spoke and when, for half an hour, to measure the fire.
What permissions does it ask for?
To see channels, send messages with pictures, add reactions and read the history of its own posts so it can reply to them and react under a fresh hatch. It also asks to create invite links, for features that connect servers.
Is it free?
Yes. There is nothing to buy.
Will it DM me?
Only about feeding: a note when one of your creatures gets hungry, at most every 6 hours, and a last call 12 hours before one would starve. The note links back to your server, where the feeding happens.
Is it safe for work?
It is cute and silly. When two creatures get romantic the lights go out and the screen says do not look. The worst you will see is a dragon in a tiny crown.
Who draws the creatures?
An image model draws every portrait from the creature’s own genes when it hatches, so no two look the same. A baby gets a grown up portrait when it grows up.
Do creatures die?
Yes. A creature lives about 10 days, a bit more with kisses, and starves if nobody feeds it for 3 days. Its kids carry on.
Which languages does it speak?
8: English, Español, Português (Brasil), Русский, Deutsch, Français, 日本語 and Polski. Each player gets the language of their own Discord app.
